Stephanie & Roger // Engagement Session // Wintergreen

As the days are getting hotter, my brain is drifting back to the super cool months… I’ve never been a huge fan of heat, but colder weather I’ve been able to tolerate. In my mind, I can always add layers, right? There’s only so many layers you can reasonably take off….

I loved this session with Stephanie and Roger! We traveled up near the Blue Ridge Parkway to Wintergreen for this snowy engagement session. We had originally planned on shooting on the Blue Ridge Parkway itself, but upon arriving discovered that the road had been closed due to to snow and ice! So our Plan B was Wintergreen, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

The weather was perfect. Cold enough for snow, but juuuuust warm enough that being outside didn’t immediately freeze your appendages. The sky was gloriously overcast. Lots of people will say things like, “oh man! I wish it was a sunny day for pictures!” or “too bad it’s all cloudy today!” But the truth is, that makes for absolutely PERFECT lighting. Not too harsh, not too much glare. But even sunlight that doesn’t make you look washed out or make you squint.

So here are a few images that I love from their engagement session. Their wedding day will be equally as gorgeous this fall, I’m sure!!!
